QTL mapping of panicle architecture and yield-related traits between two US rice cultivars 'LaGrue' and 'Lemont'

Grain yield is a quantitative trait, which determined by several agronomic traits. Unfortunately, there little information about the genetics behind components in US rice cultivars. The objectives of present study were to (1) conduct QTL identify chromosome (chr. hereafter) regions associated with traits two U.S.-developed cultivars and (2) candidate genes major related Four evaluated summer 2017 at University Arkansas System Division Agriculture's Rice Research Extension Center (RREC) Stuttgart, AR. for 15 yield. Of four cultivars, "LaGrue" had higher number seeds/panicle, primary panicle branches/panicle, seeds/plant "Lemont," despite having longer panicles 100 seed weight/panicle, produced least seeds among A bi-parental population was developed from cross between LaGrue Lemont analysis. set 322 F2:3 lines randomized complete block design (RCBD) locations three replications each line. total 17 detected, including plant height on chr. 1 flag leaf length 8 seven found these regions. results would be useful marker-assisted selection breeding.
